Course Description

This is a 3 hour block-diagram level short course on digital radio frequency memories (DRFMs). It includes discussion of the basic DRFM function and key technology issues.

The main thrust of the course is the role of DRFMs in Electronic Warfare, including how DRFMs enable the jamming of important types of modern RADARs -- particularly those with chirp, Barker code, detailed radar cross section analysis capabilities and various other electronic protection capabilities.

Also covered will be the application of DRFMs in radar decoys. Finally, circuitry and operational considerations that enhance DRFM capabilities will be discussed.
